View Full Version : Leaderboard roll check...

I guess you could kinda call this one of those challenges. I'm shooting for #1 in decemeber (well first priority is to make 20k), and I know a few of you are doing the same. Wondering what sort of score you think will be enough and how you'll try to do it (limits, hours, #sngs etc).

I'll start /images/graemlins/wink.gif.

I think 50-55k will be the mark providing we put in a proper effort. Assuming 55k pts, that's around 3000 sngs for me at the 55s, at 7hrs a day.

If first is out of reach (fiery), then I'll sure as hell give anyone a run for their money for 2nd place.

It'd be nice to know who the competition is.

I'm going to hijack your thread a little and ask if new party accounts get screwed on the leaderboard because they're "blue." Don't blue accounts earn fewer points for each tourney?

11-29-2005, 11:30 PM
leaderboard points, and VIP points are different things.

New accounts can win the leaderboard.

"We have created a unique point system for our tournament leader board"

I'm pretty sure the leaderboard uses it's own system.

I'm going for top 5 although my family commitments might get in the way next month. january for sure though. $30s & MTTs.

I am shooting for at least 100 sngs a day and probably more like 150...Hopefully I dont go broke or insane.

Do you think it is cruxial to mix in MTTS for a chance at a big score (points) or is it trivial? I would love to see the monthly profit for the top 20 on the leaderbaord, would be very interesting.

"Do you think it is cruxial to mix in MTTS for a chance at a big score (points) or is it trivial?"

If you play with the calculators on partys site, you'll see that mtts aren't really worth that much, so the guys who top the leaderboard will be hardcore sng players and not big mtt winners.

FieryJustice
11-29-2005, 11:54 PM
if you WIN a $640 buyin mtt with 2000 people, you get 3000 points, which is nothing.

Well im trying to break my funk by playing less tables, but at the 215's. If that doesn't work out the first few days im going to play the same as fiery (125-150 55's/day). So I guess we'll see if i make a run for the top couple spots. Regardless though I will definatley be in the top 10.

Edited: screw the leaderboard this month, I'm partyin with my friends that are coming back from school. you guys have fun

Holy crap!!! How many tables at once? How many hours does it take you?

FieryJustice
11-30-2005, 01:02 AM
10 tabling obviously...I am averaging about 15/hr right now....so 10 solid hours of sng madness every day. I will have to take a 3 month break after it. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

What is your ROI at that level if you don't mind me asking? Also, what was your ROI's at other levels while moving up?

You must play pretty aggro early b/c I play 10-tables continuously and only average 13.4 or so an hour.

Well, this sucks. I was hoping to average 5-6 hours a day 10-tabling $55s for a whole month, but it appears I may not even get a top 3 doing this.

wow.. the 55's are getting crowded w/all these leadeboard chasers.

i think i'll move down to the 33's for a while and let you guys battle it out. Hi Ilya *waves* /images/graemlins/smile.gif

$15 per hour total? cause i'm averaging a hell of lot more than that 10 tabling the $55's.

or $15/hr per table?!

Yeah, I know a player that will play at least 2k 109's and 215s and works a real job. This should be a fun month. No break for christmas it looks like. jk

You're right, but I played 109s and that level is just ridiculous. Every table I was at had 4-5 guys from the leaderboard top 25, it was very scary. It's almost at the point where traditional peak hours may not be peak b/c you'll get 10-tablers in most of your SNGs

FieryJustice

I'm gonna try and get in the top 100 by playing 1000 $55's, wish me luck. I can;t wait to see next month's top 5 being all 2+2 guys, that would be awesome.

My November sucked and thus I got lazy and played very little. December I'm going insaine with pokah since I have almost no school. I'm going to play no less then 500 109's and try and do 1k sngs this month. Realistically 1k probably won't happen but why not giver a go.

Im top 30 this month, playing about 50 sngs a day. If your trying to make the top 15 though the $55 are the worst place to do it at. Since anyone playing the $109 or $215 gets more points for 1st or second, and its a dignificant difference. Then the $11 $22 $33 can get a lot more Sngs in then the $55 because of the time it takes. SO guys like Juicy vgina can place high on the leaderboard playing low buyins.

Fortunately for everyone else, Bonafone, I'll be taking a family vacation from December 22nd through the 29th, so I guess I'll have to get about 70,000 points by the time I leave. Good luck to me!! And, yes, I will be working from 8 to 4 M-F everyday also.

Mr_J

Actually is kinda balances out if you look at it more closely. 55s and 33s are pretty damn close, and 109s aren't that far ahead of 55s.

The top few places are decided by effort put in, not buyin. Considering the impact buyin could have on your hourly rate, it'd be silly to play your non optimal buyin just to get more points. Eg, me at the 109s, better shot at 1st, but I wouldn't be surprised if my hourly rate dropped while my variance skyrocketed.

Good point, let's also not forget that if one of us goes on a heater and gets HU an inordinate amount of time, say 30% for the month, that can easily even the playing field against someone playing an insane amount but gets HU 20-22% of the time. That's why I like this leaderboard, some just go buy whoever plays the most tournies, but this one makes you get top 2 for it to count.

the leaderboard gives points to the top 20% of field. hm.. look into 2 and 3 table SnGs where making even 4th (2table) or 6th (3table) get you points?

My head is spinning with all those figures being thrown around here.

I am doing calculations how much I have to play to go pro and it looks that I would have to put in almost as many hours to get the same money as in my current job. Of course I would be playing only 1000 PS 25+2 a month...

Im in awe that somebody can play 1000 SnG while having a full time job. Unreal!

Not sure I can make the STTF HUC II though as I will probably be there with a dozen or so of my peeps who will only be there for the weekend and who I may want to hang out with more than some degenerate gamb0lers from the STT forum... lame, I know.
