Bought a new computer about 3 weeks ago, took 2 weeks to arrive and the past week my friend has been trying to do something special with the HDs to make them run as one and run much faster. He FINALLY got it to work and is installing all the programs I need and throwing my old files onto the new HDs. I bought most of it off Monarch Computers (they built and tested most of it) and some additional parts(vid card, water cooler, HDs) from Newegg.

I still have to decide if I really want to install the water cooler or return it, it looks like a bitch but have heard many good things about it once you get it up and running.

From Monarch:
Motherboard: 110224 - DFI Lan Party UT NForce4 Ultra-D
Processor: 120210 - AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 512K 90nm Rev. E
Memory: 140226 - DDR (400) 3200 - 2 GB (2 pcs 1GB) OCZ Dua
Case: 100551 - No PS - Thermaltake VB1000BWS Soprano ATX
Power Supply: 100241 - PS 550W - Antec True Power 2 SLI ATX
Case Fan: 100887 - 120mm - Antec 120mm SmartCool Case Fan'

From Newegg:
HDs: 2 Western Digital Raptor WD740GD 74GB 10,000 RPM
Vid Card: eVGA 256-P2-N515-AX Geforce 7800GT 256MB PCI
Mouse: Logitech G5 Laser 6 Buttons 1x Wheel USB Laser Mouse
Cooling System: ZALMAN RESERATOR 1 Fanless Water Cooling System

Total Cost: $1620+$70 tax+$120 shipping-$60 rebates = $1750

Don't ask me why I need such a strong computer except to play the occasional games(Civ 4 and fast paced FPS were KILLING my old computer). I've been on a spending spree lately, too. I think my friend just wanted to live vicariously through my purchase and talked me into buying it, saying he would take care of all the logistics of setup(which was a caveat before I bought it). He was more excited when it came than I was. I have learned a LOT from watching him install all the stuff, though.

Already have two DVD drives(one NEC RW drive), one 80GB HD, a keyboard, and 2 2001FPs as my monitors. Here's hoping it's smooth sailing for the next 3 years(I refuse to buy a new computer before that).
