Not a bad beat post. I am in the midst of a 40 tourn downswing and I have lost my mo jo. Comments please. In the last 3 days, this happens every freaking tourney.

Is this a push? Yes, I know I ran into aces, big deal, what I want to know is if you are pushing this as well. Blinds were huge, 77 seems like a monster to me.

Hey, don't feel discouraged. This was an easy push. You just got unlucky running into a monster.

Re: 40 buy-in downswing.. take a few days off or something. You're probably playing like crap.

This is an obvious push. If you are in a 40 buyin downswing, I promise you this type of hand is not the reason.

That or it might be time to pick up a book. Maybe HOH or something.

You just need to get better at sucking out. There is no way you can fold.

(For clarity, is this a 40 tournament downswing, meaning over your past 40 tournaments, you're down 10 buyins? Or are you down 40 buyins over the last 150 tournaments? Because I assumed the former)

Easy push.

Would you be willing to review some HH for me given your feedback? Or is this trash talk?

Meaning I am down $2k in the last few days. For the month I am still up over $1K but every single tournament, I am getting crushed or sucked out on (bubble). It's really beginning to be hilarious. I am willing to send HH for proof, and I would love feedback if you have time.

This is the key to surviving and turning around downswings for me. Anger and frustration can lead to leaks. When a downswing starts to get prolonged I tend to detach myself from it. It becomes a sort of dark comedy. I look forward to, and fully expect to be dazzled by, the next freakish display of magic donk plays, monsters in the blinds, cracked hands and whatever else the Poker Gods can devise. It's kinda sad when it ends....

Don't know if this is helpful or redundant but, when I m in the middle of a downswing, I won't stop playing completely. However, I will bring my number of tables down and also spend a 1:1 ratio of time spent playing to studying. Whether studying means going over HHs in SNGPT, chatting about hands, or reading poker books it doesnt matter. So I make my poker more quality time instead of quantity.

High volume poker during a downswing is a recipe for disaster if you're off your game, which most of us invariably are (off our games) during these horrible runs.
