View Full Version : 6 Max optimal stats

I apologize if this has already been asked, however I have been unable to find this information in using the search. What seem to be the optimal stats for 6 max in general, or at least for the 1/2 level in which I currently play?

Currently I have a small sample size of about 5000 hands which I know is no where near enough for an accurate picture of my stats. At this sample size I have a VPIP of 27.42, PFR of 11.36, AF of 1.48, an attempt to steal blinds of 23, and a BB/100 of 5.1. Without knowing what is optimal I would think this VPIP may be about right or a little high. The PFR, AF, and attempt to steal blinds seem to be quite low.

Basically I would just like to have something for a comparison once I reach 15K+ hands. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd say your VPIP is too high for a PFR of 11.36, but I'm a rather newb when it comes to PT stats. I think my AF is bigger, too. I forget. Somewhere in the 2's, I think.

With all my games put together, I'm about a 27/20 guy, but that includes quite a bit of 3-5 handed games. When I filter it for exactly 6 handed, I'm a 22/16 guy.

Correction on the AF total. The number I gave included Preflop %. W/o this, it is 2.64.

Thanks for the responses so far guys. They give me something to work with.

It's from the Micro forum, but it's good.

This is old data. The radical rethink of WTSD dynamics on 2+2 lately has revised this number to 35.7%.

Mods: can we sticky this in the SSSH forum, too? That's dumb that it's over there and not here.

I never noticed that before because I have it bookmarked and refer to it every day. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'm working on a few projects right now, but as things filter out (and perhaps when I officially become a mod over here), I was thinking of writing up a new FAQ to update Robk's with a little more info in it. It would contain all that stats info for sure, perhaps with some minor updates and revisions.

Based on your VPIP and PFR, you're likely limping/cold calling way the heck too much.

I think in 6 max, and SH it's really hard to think about aiming for stats, because this just get more and more situational. Focus more on how to play vs specific players and player types and numbers will follow.

In case it hasn't already been said, let me emphasize that there is no one set of optimal stats: some people do well with a 22/17 approach, and others do great with a 30/20 approach. Personal strengths and styles make a difference. Though there are some stats that are clearly bad and worth avoiding(40/8), one should focus on individual decisions and concepts, rather than on fitting their stats into a particular rubric.
