yeah i'd push the flop...you are folding that turn I hope.

why push the flop and not the turn? i really doubt the turn card improved villain's hand.

why on earth would villain check-raise with AK on the flop? i think it's more likely that he has QT.

djoyce003

maybe...I think it's AK or 77....villain is really tight, and he would probably not raise AK out of the blinds, that's what it looks like to me....i've been wrong before.

Oh, you checkraise an overbet of the pot on the flop with a gutshot and 2 overs, then shove when you hit your 4 outer to the nuts on the turn? Seriously, is this a joke?

11-28-2005, 04:25 PM
I would raise PF on this button.

I like your flop bet (esp after a raise) but think the re-raise smell like a set of sevens...

laugh yeah i misread that he didn't have position...I wouldn't checkraise with it, i'd lead out...i'd consider pushing though because i'd figure hero has a strong hand and might not fold...depends on my read of hero....in my experience pushes like this get called a lot more than other bets because they look more like bluffs.

i doubt he's checkraising the flop with AK.

Well, considering your stack size, this seems like an easy call.

Sorry to ruin the discussion so early but I couldn't put him on the straight...so...I called his AI...

I call/push turn. Sometimes you will get shown 77 or whatever, but any straight is HIGHLY unlikely I think, I would expect to see QT or some other 2 pair (BB special) most of the time.

seriously...how is a guy that is 13/4 this freaking horrible postflop...wow.

This isn't that bad... What is the horrible part? Turn push is just for pot in effect you know. Agreed he's not beating a lo, basically only 9T and KT, maybe KQ, but still... I wouldn't checkraise the flop with his hand probably but I don't see it as that bad.

He flopped two pair from the BB....

Just unfortunate for him that I had the higher two pair....My worry is though....How often does he have 77 here? AK raises IMO...

Pushing the flop puts the villian to the difficult decision. Calling an all-in on the turn is quite different. I usually want to be holding the nuts to do that.

I hate the flop checkraise. If he leads flop turn and river I think he played it fine.

Djoyce, I've read a lot of your posts on here, and I respect a lot of what you have to say, but this is seriously retarded.

11-28-2005, 08:15 PM
I wouldn't push after my check raise gets called (unless you want a call) but his play is not horrible. Aggression wins pots. Many would fold rather than call his all in.

11-28-2005, 09:07 PM
if he had a hand as strong as AK, and on the turn he pushes? you have to cancel that because he doesnt want you to fold here, and an AI overbet puts too much pressure on you for a limp.

the turn definitly sets off a few alarms in my mind, but i would consider your hand good and im calling here on this push, because to me it shows more weakness than strength. if he woke up w/ a set of 7's.. that sucks, reload and go back at it.. i think you made the right call.

Nice call OP. Buying in short helps, eh? Would have been alot tougher if you also had $200+ behind. For a PSB I call that and expect to see 77 sometimes, and be goot the rest.
