I'm 5-15 minutes late 3 days a week.

As Spicoli would say, "Just couldn't make it on time".

For my summer job (catering) I was usually 5-15 minutes early. I was late once all summer. But when you work directly with your bosses, it helps to be on their good side.

I try to be the first in every morning.
If they don't know when you arrived, they can't complain about when you leave. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm usually late about an hour every day, sometimes less, sometimes more.

In all seriousness, I'd say I'm late to work 95% of the time. We'll just say I'm not really a morning person.

(Of times I'm late)
1-15 minutes: ~ 45%
16-30 minutes: ~45%
30+ minutes: ~10%

I get this once a month:

"It's 9:30

We can't keep operating like this nor can I keep repeating myself about the hours we are keeping."

I tried to explain to him that I'm a mid limit poker player and he should be lucky I decide to come in, but it didn't go over so well.

I am consistently 5-10 minutes late. It doesn't seem to matter how early I wake up, I just can't get here any earlier.

5 min late 1 or 2 days a week (can't turn that damn howard stern off), and leave 30-45 early 3-4 times a week /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Heh. me too. Whether I wake up at 7 Am or 8:15 AM, I still get in after 9.

Do you do the "morning stare"? I'll find myself at the foot of my bed just pondering life as I put my socks on.

I'm scheduled to work 9-5, but i get in at like 9:45 every day and stay until around 5:45 or 6. Pretty bogus but nobody seems to care. As long as work is done when they need it done, I don't see an issue.

Can people include where they work? I think that's relevant. I work at a hedge fund - but am kind of an intern.

i work 3 days a week 830-6, and I'm never late. In fact, i'm probably 5-10 minutes early everyday. I HATE being late. I hate when people are late. Just the way I was brought up I guess.

Wow, I used to do that a lot. Somewhere in the process of clothing, I'd sit on my bed and zone out for who knows how long. I don't remember the last time I did that though. My dog doesn't allow it.

I am so goddamn pissed early in the morning. I dont say a word to anyone and have a horrible look on my face. Also, it takes me forever to do anything even when I am in a rush.

I know what your saying.

I'm about 15 minutes late from time to time. It's funny how you get comments when you're late but no one notices or says anything when you're early.

Never!

I'm a contractor, and am paid by the hour, so I turn up/leave when I want pretty much, get paid for the time I work, and as long as the required work is done to a project's timescales, there's nothing much said about it.

If i disapeared, or was abducted or something, it would probably take several weeks before anyone at my job noticed.

I'm supposed to be in at 8:30, and usually show up in the 8:30 - 8:45 range. Occassionally, something will happen to make me considerably late. I often work late too, and RARElY leave early. My boss is usually 15 minutes late, so it's never been too big of a deal. I only have one co-worker who complains about people being late, and I really don't understand why. She has to have her kids at school before 8:00, so she's on time by default, whereas the rest of us just have to be at work for our first thing of the morning. She makes a big deal about how she's always the first one there, and tells me I should be getting in when she does. She, however, isn't my boss, and I don't see why she cares. Since it seems to be quasi-acceptable to be a little late, she could be taking advantage of that too.

11-28-2005, 04:20 PM
If it's a normal day, most of us trickle in between 8am and 8:15am. One comes in around 8:30am. I rarely arrive later than 8:15, but work is right next to my house. If we're having an 8am meeting though, we're all at least five minutes early.

I think I'm late every day, probably by about 30 minutes or so. I don't really know, because I was never told what time I am supposed to start my work day. Some people come in at 9, some come in at 10, so I usually just middle it and get in around 9:30.

To concur with other posters, it really doesn't matter what time I wake up. I'm up at 7:30 every day with my wife and live three subway stops away from work, but I never get in before 9:30. If I'm ready early I end up booking a couple hundred hands between 8:30 and 9:15 or read a chapter in a book or make oatmeal instead of regular breakfast cereal.

Oddly, I end up saying at work way later than most. I just always have a ton of [censored] to do. And because I post on 2+2. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif Or maybe I just hate switching locations?

Good, I am not alone. I am late everyday. I'm "suppose" to be here at 9 but usually get here 9:15-9:23. I do office work, my immediate supervisor doesn't come in until 11ish. I am not a morning person. I stay up really late, but even if I went to bed early I wouldn't want to wake up in the morning. I usually leave on time to go home.

My job is live limit poker , so, I'm never late for work. However , I am sometimes late getting home, espcially if I 'm stuck for the night ( something i am working on, staying when stuck I mean).

When I had a job, I was late every single day. Generally 10-15 mins, but as I reached the end of my time there I was stretching it to an hour or so. And I left early, as well.

Needless to say, quitting that wretched hell-hole of a job to play the unmentionable game instead has been a real blessing.

This has nothing to do with this thread but it seemed like a funny thing at the time...

In a meeting...one of the program coordinators (a boring, humorless pedant) says that he’ll be off for three days next week for Supervisory Training.

My awesome boss says, “What’s the subject of the training?”

“Leading with Tact and Finesse.”

The boss says with a straight face, “Well, you’d better f*cking learn how to do it!”

There’s a moment of silence before my office mate and I start rofling gleefully. The pedant looks stunned. I am never late to work.

Before my job started sucking total ass and my boss started showing apparent disinterest and dumping everything on me? Never late, never left early.

Now? Late ~15 minutes every day. Leaving 15 minutes early today.

See ya!

Self-employed, so technically never. Still, I'm 30 min to 1 hour later than I should be about half the time. Mornings suck.

I was chronically late at my old job, but only by about 10 minutes everyday, however I put in about 500 hours of OT in the year and a half I was there so I more than made up to the fuckers before I got canned from that hellhole......

i am late everyday, i work for my dad's construction company part time(while i go to school/p*ker) he yells at me every day almost, how i should be waking up early to arrive at 8.

He is never on time being almost an hour late to the job every day. Like this morning i had to run errands before getting to work, so I decided to sleep late and say the errands took a long time /images/graemlins/blush.gif

He wants to know when I'm going to start living in the real world, and I say, "I dunno, I applied for it, but I haven't heard back yet."

I feel that being that at 8 isn't very important, because for example today I worked til it was dark outside, and worked hard all day, so I think i can show up late

oh [censored] I just got started...

SO any [censored] way, i'm really supposed to be an "Independent Contractor," not an employee so i should be able to work whenever the [censored] i want, i'm also on call almost 24/7/356, so i say WTF, get off my ass

/end rant

thanks

Basically myself and my supervisor are the only people who are consistently on time to my job. If we had any applicants to the positions I supervise I would try to fire about half my employees right now, but times are tough. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Yeah FLEX time rules. I'm almost always the last one in but I am always the last one to leave.

Some people I work with are in the office by 6, many are there by 8:30, almost all are there by 9:30 and I come in every day around 10-10:30. However, I never take lunches (and I point that out as much as possible, any time I can tell people are antsy about what time I come in).
