In a regular situation, if there is 7BB's in the pot on the turn and we are HU and expecting to call 2 BB's then our effective odds are 9:2.

How do we adjust this for times where we are expecting to either lose or at best split the pot?

Do our effective odds simply become 4.5:2?

3.5:2, since you and your opponent each get your 2 bets back, and then you split the 7 bet pot, so you are calling 2 to win 3.5.

An exception to this might occur if the pot cannot be evenly split, and then the house may have its own rules about who gets the extra chip.
