OOT, I need a comfy chair type thing for my apt. It's a studio so space is an issue. A sofa would be ideal but won't really fit in the space I want to use it in. This (http://ww1.westelm.com/cat/pip.cfm?src=schp1%7Ct4%7Cwsette%2Fhme&pkey=xsrd0n1 %7C8%7C1%7C%7C%7C%7C%7C%7Csette&gids=f066&cmsrc=sc h) is being considered as a sofa-type alternative, and this would be about the widest thing I could get, but I just can't see me sitting on this for any length of time as my bed would be nearbye and more comfy.

So I'm thinking comfy chair. This is something I'd watch tv in and eat in with the help of some type of table off to the side or in front. It would also be something for a guest to sit in. If i'm at the computer or watching tv on my bed. I would like something modern (doesn't have to be modern as in bizzare, just can't be some antique looking grandfather chair) and probably leather. Don't worry about budget for now. Ideas?

Never heard of that before, how is it pronounced? I think I'm looking for something a little more substantial.

Give us some measurements. What is the max size?

If a couch is ideal but too big will a loveseat work?

That could work... I saw some things like that. It looks a little bulky though. I may be after something where you can lean back a little more too.

This is a really weird chair, as it doesnt look to comfortable, but it really is, if you can find the type that you sink down into.

I'd say 48" is max width.

Other dimensions aren't important.

Dunno but I think it's probably a bad suggestion for you. It's ideal for reading.

I like MattSuspect's second chair. It's very cool.

looks comfy too. Big enough to snuggle up with a special someone as well.

Most of my reading occurs on a different kind of chair. Interestingly enough, I've read a few books in the last 4 weeks. But yeah, this chair will be used more for tv than reading.

I like this second one a lot. I was originally envisioning something like this but in leather, but that may work just fine. There's a "Bo" in my neighborhood, I may check it out. The first one is too blocky and not loungy enough.

I'm also amused that there is an entire category of seating called "Poufs"

Come in a variety of colors, easily portable, multi-functional, inexpensive...right up your alley!

I have one very similar to this in my studio, with an ottoman. mine is wide enough that I can sit side by side on it with the gf and it works great.

is it odd that jba is giving JBB advice?

No, JBA comes before JBB therefore, he is older and wiser.

I got it about five years ago and I can't remember if I got it at jordan's or bernie and phyl's (both local boston places). It is similar to this one, but there are two cushions that go on the side, the shape is closer to this

I have 2 of these. They are great, especially with an ottoman.

fourtunoff sells some love seats that have built in recliners. They are pretty comfy.
