Single Table Sattelites

I am contemplating playing in some on-line single table satellite tournaments and curious to know about the blind increases. This site has the blinds increasing every 10 hands. Starting with 10 players and T800 in chips. The blinds go from 10/15 to 15/30 to 25/50 to 50/100 to 100/200 to 150/300 and so on. It seems to me that every ten hands is a too fast of an increase and takes away a lot of this skill element in it. Or is this just how it is standardly done in single table tournaments?
