hero has Q/images/graemlins/heart.gif T/images/graemlins/club.gif MP, limps for 2$.
villain is SB and complete, BB checks:

hero has villain covered.

flop (7$ after rake, 5 players):

Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif 8/images/graemlins/club.gif

checks to hero, pots, folds to villain who calls, others fold.

turn (21$, 2 players):

[Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif 8/images/graemlins/club.gif] T/images/graemlins/heart.gif

villain checks, hero makes it 15$, villain minraises, hero calls.

river (50$ after rake):

[Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif 8/images/graemlins/club.gif T/images/graemlins/heart.gif] 3/images/graemlins/spade.gif

villain checks, I check.

villain flashes K/images/graemlins/heart.gif K/images/graemlins/spade.gif, hero flips up his hand, villain turns kings facedown and tosses them next to the dealer near the community cards away from him (villain is in seat 10). people begin saying that the kings are good, and i said no he mucked them. floor was called to table, and floor ruled the kings, although turned facedown, are still live.

thoughts? should i have been a jerk and pursued it or let it go? villain sat 5 hands ago and didn't seem to know what he was doing.

for the record, i didn't pursue it, but would have had we been all in.

You didn't win the hand , why are you complaining? Floor made the correct decision. Cards talk at every casino I have ever played. If you would have pursued it, you still would not (and should not) have been awarded the pot. Quit angle-shooting and just outplay him.

Post this in the B&M forum and you will get flamed to no end.......

first of all, the rule says if you muck your hand, even if its a winner, you lose. secondly, yes cards talk but only if you have cards in front of you. and yes, i would have shot that angle had more $ been in the pot. if you don't know the rules for a casino then you shouldn't be playing at a casino.

Cross post this in the B&M forum where real casino floor read and post. You will find that you are mistaken. Calls that are mucked as long a they are retrieveable may still play.

If the other player did not say "fold" and his cards are not touching the muck, the hand is live. He wins the pot.

If he said anything to indicate he was giving up, aka folding his hand is dead and his verbal action is binding.

Also keep in mind, especially at the lower limits like this that the floor, may pull the cards out of the muck and award the pot to the newboob in the interests of keeping a happy customer. At higher limits it would never happen, but at these limits a lot of rules get bent.

Fold preflop.
