i played it, pretty cool. although personally portable gaming seems fairly ridiculous

whats a friend number? the portable system has online? man i am way out of the loop.

Yeah, it's really quite cool. You can play on the internet for free as long as you're in a hotspot or have a wireless internet connection at your house. If you only have regular broadband with wires, you need to get an adaptor for your computer.

The friend number is kind of like an IP address for each DS. Everyone has a different one and you can add them so you can play against your friends.

I've got it, but haven't yet played online.
I've just been trying to get good and complete the cups at 50cc, 100cc and 150cc to unlock everything.
I'll try to get online tonight...

i'm looking forward to a bunch of ds games: thps, kart, sonic, etc. i'm terrible about having buyable christmas gifts though so that's what i'm asking for. bummer i can't play them until then, but it's kind of cool getting to look forward to it like a kid.

it is disgusting that nintendo wifi doesn't support wpa encryption, though.

I bought a DS and Mario Kart last week and it's been a blast so far. The DS version seems harder than the Gamecube version. Online play is easy to set up and is awesome.
