View Full Version : Opponent makes big AI

These are standard folds I assume?

13th hand of SnG. I've played 3 hands, 1st AA (took half stack but no SD), 3rd AA (reraised same 1st opponent, who pushed KJ, I win), 10th AK (UTG PFR w/ no callers).

No read on opponent.

Why are you playing this hand?

I definitely wouldn't be playing this later in the middle stages of the tourney. However it's early, I have a huge chip stack, and I'm on the button. Would this be ok w/ A3s or T9s?

This is a fold pf. It doesn't matter if you think everyone is respecting you right now, picking up the blinds is next to useless.

Only if the blinds are 2+2'ers.

This argues for a fold more than a raise.

No. Unless you're talking about some weird high buyin ($200+). If that's the case, I'm unfamiliar with the importance of stealing blinds this early.

i think this is a fold with no read. he is BB and it is possible he has a 7 but the key here is that you say you are getting too much respect, in which case it is less likely he is running a bluff. that said tho, you dont say what level this is but if it is $10 then i call here for sure.

Fold pf, leave the steals for the later blind amounts, I like this better (but still not hugely) at 25/50 for instance.

Am I the only one who doesn't hate this? What buyin is this?

I hope you're talking about his pf play and not considering calling. Calling this would be beyond terrible.

Why doesn't it surprise me that you don't hate it. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm talking about preflop. I think this play is marginal, but I wouldn't call it *bad*, especially not with hero's stack size. It's a clear fold to the flop checkraise.
