I open for $80 in MP with black aces and ~$4k behind, SB calls (has me covered), BB calls.....these two opponents are only semi-retarded (as compared to the rest of the people at the table/Southern California)....
flop is Q92 (two clubs) - check, check, check
turn is 2 - SB bets $200, fold, I call
river is 2 - SB bets $300, I mini-raise to $600 but - before I can yell "ship it" and go meet some fine-ass Malibu chicks down at the Scientology church - I get to watch him bitch and moan about not being able to fold for $300 more....

Why are we not making a pot-sized raise on this river? You can even make an overbet even if your opp is semi-retarded. He's either got a big hand to pay you off or nothing so why min raise?
he has a queen, he probably won't pay that much more than 300 on top

i dont think that particular flop is a good time to mix it up with aces against retards. if they play anything like LATB, you can play a big pot here and not be too concerned. from what ive heard about these games, AQ/KQ stacks off here more often than not.
I cannot wait for my trip to LA /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

when is it you are going again?
dec. 16 - 25. Unfortunately most of the poker time will probably be in the afternoon, games probably won't be great then?

coltrane my man i make at least $800 more on that hand. by betting the flop. that's a great flop, and these guys'll play with any gutshot, Q, 9 or flush draw. having checked the flop, i would raise the turn. having played it as you did i'd have raised much more hoping he had a queen. play these guys for bigger money when you get a big hand!

Should have bet every street. But because of the way you played it, I don't mind the min-raise on the river although I probably would have popped it to $800.
I'm guessing he had a 9?

game was definitely great, but what I meant by the player description was that this guy was less idiotic than the rest....I would've gotten action no doubt, but there's zero chance I get $4k postflop from AQ.....

yeah most of the time I do bet the flop, I was mixing it up - kind of like my friend who just started drinking Chartreuse and Red Bull.....
