Lead flop and turn yourself. Don't check-raise and scare away other As or people who caught middle or bottom pair. Don't let a free card roll off for heart draw. Build a pot with your monster. If you check-raise, really check-raise...make it $100 or $120.

Call the turn all-in. Hope he has hearts or lesser two pair.

As played, i think you have a fairly easy call on the river. You're getting pretty good pot odds (>2-1) and are probably ahead at least 50% of the time against typical LAGS.

I do prefer leading on the flop or making a bigger checkraise as others have said.

I hate to checkraise, but thought this would be the best way to go here. If I lead for $20 and get two callers, there is only $80 in the pot. If I lead for $80 on the turn any draw is still calling at this table. I wanted to build a pot on the flop so I could jam a non-heart turn. I guess this is the wrong line??

No guarantees anyone's going to bet the flop, buddy. Best way to build a pot is to bet your own hands.

If we were nearly guaranteed that the flop would be bet... who still prefers to lead out and why?

I strongly with agree with you but both players behind me were aggresive and almost every flop at this table was bet. I hate to check-raise, but thought it was the best line here. The main question is, do I call the last $300?

you're letting the villian call $40 into a $120 pot on the flop. the sb is getting even better pot odds (calling $40 into a $160 pot if the villian calls). with a weak check-raise like that, you're asking to be drawn out.

I wanted to build a pot, so I could put more pressure on them on the turn. They will almost always fold a draw for a big bet on the turn, but on the flop they won't fold unless I overbet the flop or c/r to $200.
