So I guess you have no personal prefrences or opinions at all? Rely on others for all your hobbies? How would anyone know what to suggest without knowing what you like? Get yourself a life, someone self worth, and figure out your own tastes.

Green Acres. Many moments of pure genius, an incredible supporting cast. Playing comedy this looney straight was genius, and it's still just as weird today as it was then.

And if you like anime or want to give it a try and start at the top, Full Metal Alchemist.

For a throwback to how good things were on t.v. a long long time ago:

The Outer Limits -- the original, not the remake. Great stuff, can't say enough good things about it.

Have Gun Will Travel -- half hour westerns with a good star. Some great guest stars too. RIchard Boone stars as "Paladin," a rational but fearless gun for hire who often winds up trying to sort things out between fools as much as shoot them.

Battlestar Galactaca - the New Series -

First the three hr. miniseries
Then 17 episodes of Season 1
Then the first 10 of Season 2, to be relased shortly with more later this season.

Once I got them I couldn't stop watching for a week.

Family Business if you haven't seen it. I just rented it and it is a very interesting and entertaining look at the Adult Industry. It follows the life of the guy known as Seymoure Butts and shows his life in and out of the porn world. Very good.

Okay, some frothing...

I like TLG a lot. I find the stories are fun, well-written, amusing and thought-provoking. However, one thing I do like is that the 4 guys encompass many of the good aspects of masculinity that are often dismissed too easily in modern life. They are clever, cunning, determined, idealistic (hidden in a cynical shell sometimes though), patriotic without being mindless about it, and brave. The do what they're driven to do, good or bad.

I like all the leads, but my favourite is Frohike. The other guys constitute the heart and mind of the group, I believe Frohike constitutes the muscle and balls.

My favourite episode has him returning to the scene of a tango competition, where it's revealed he was a master tangoer who just upped and left! The woman he left curses him for leaving, nags and bitches about how he treated her, scorns him for ever returning, rants about how he dares to come back, and sneers out a question about how could he ever expect her to take him back?

His response. Quietly spoken, but meaningful beyond the words: 'because we must dance.'

She melts, of course...

Oh, and there's also Yves Adele Harlow - she is smoking hot, and has a sexy, husky English accent too!

I completely concur. My wife got me into this show and now I love it. "Angel", the spinoff, is also a great show...actually, overall I think it's a better show than "Buffy" since there are no weak seasons of it, while both the first and last (7th) seasons of "Buffy" are subpar (but still worth seeing). You kinda have to watch the first to get all the background stuff anyway, but most of the really good plotlines (and the best character, Spike) don't show up till season 2. Highly worth watching, and the complete runs of both "Buffy" and "Angel" are available on DVD and thru Netflix. Don't watch "Angel" though until you've seen the first 3 seasons of "Buffy", or you may not get everything that's going on. Buffy season 4 and Angel season 1 kind of intertwine and run concurrently, after which both shows (with the occasional exception) tend to go off in their own direction. Fun stuff.

Some suggestions (from my own and my wife's lists):

- The Simpsons (one of the 5 or 10 greatest programs in the history of TV)
- South Park (not as consistent as The Simpsons, but does it -ever- have its moments)
- Northern Exposure (absolutely charming program, especially in Seasons 1-4)
- The Sopranos (season 4 is weakest, but it's still better than 95% of the stuff on TV today. the other 4 seasons are among the greatest television programs ever made)
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer
- Angel (Buffy's spinoff, and as good or better)
- Deadwood
- Six Feet Under (my wife likes this show more than I do, but I've only seen about 2 episodes and I get the feeling it's one of the shows you have to watch a lot before it grows on you)
- Twin Peaks (although I believe only Season 1 is available, unfortunately)
- Law and Order, regular, SVU or Criminal Intent (only a few seasons available on DVD though)
- Monty Python's Flying Circus (actually, the complete boxed set is worth a BUY for $200, not a rental)
- The Awful Truth (old Michael Moore series, getting this would depend a lot on whether you care for Michael Moore)
- Black Adder (great Brit-comedy series with Rowan Atkinson of Mr. Bean fame)
- Fawlty Towers
- Homicide: Life on the Street (the greatest cop drama of all time)
- Hill Street Blues (the greatest cop drama of all time before Homicide)
- Keeping Up Appearances (another Brit-comedy, probably not for every taste due to its focus on an older, retired couple, but still absolutely hilarious, if a bit formulaic)
- Are You Being Served?
- MASH (the older episodes - read "the ones before they let Alda direct" - are better, but the whole series is high-quality)
- Mr. Show
- NYPD Blue
- The Osbournes
- Oz
- Red Dwarf (zany British comedy/sci-fi show)
- the British Granada TV Sherlock Holmes mysteries (any of them - the late Jeremy Brett gives the greatest portrayal of Holmes to be found anywhere - on TV, film or stage)
- Star Trek: The Next Generation (recommended for anybody)
- Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager (probably more for big fans of the series)
- 24
- Twilight Zone (Rod Serling is the bomb. Although I don't think a definitive complete collection has ever been released - correct me if I'm wrong - most of the episodes are out there in DVD form somewhere, in various collections)
- The West Wing
- The X-Files
- World Poker Tour DVDs (how could I leave this one off?)
- ESPN WSOP 2003 and 2004 DVD sets
- Cheers
- Seinfeld (also gotta love how the new Season 5 and 6 box set comes with a small replica of the Puffy Shirt)
- Frasier
- Sledge Hammer! (farcical 80s cop show, way ahead of its time)

Kenny vs. Spenny I thought was hilarious, and my wife liked it even better than I did. We saw it in reruns on the Game Show Network though; I don't know that there's a DVD version of it available in the US. In Canada, maybe, since the show was filmed in Metro Toronto.
