How do I change my avatar ?

This isn't actually a suggestion but as I had no idea to where I should post that, I just decided to post it here.
So what I am wondering is how can I use an avatar which is located on my hard drive. Usually there is a link and when you click on it you can search for your picture in your hard drive, but in this forum you have to type an "URL" and I know what an URL is.
So if anyone could help me it would be nice.

You can upload your image to one of the storage sites. Here's a google...

I use photobucket and each pic has 3 choices as ID for each pic. I highlight the bottom one, copy and then paste in my post. (I keep 2 browser windows open so I can get my pic easily when I need one.)
