Guruman, and I come from the micros forum. I've been playing 1/2 6max almost exclusively over my last 10k hands (with a couple of failed shots at 2/4 short thrown in).

I initially build up from an instant bankroll $75 startup at party .50/1.

Good luck and these forums led me to my current limit, as I never really had a chance before them.

I'm gearing up for another shot at 2/4, and I'm hoping to stick this time. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

...and you are?

11-26-2005, 01:36 AM
i'm doing .50/1 6-max with only $130 since i got killed playing sng's and mtt's (originally had $400 after starting with full ring limit).

i'm not worried about BR though, the tables are really easy, much better than full ring and i'm already up 26BB in a couple sessions.

But seriously, currently playing 3/6 on abso. Can move 5/10 soon, just kinda waiting for the moment to be right.

dude, what's your movedown threshold? Or will you just reload if you bust?

11-26-2005, 01:46 AM
i can't really move down to anything. i'd reload, but i've been reading these forums for a while (and some books) and i highly doubt i'll have any major trouble. the tables are very easy for me at that level.

11-26-2005, 02:08 AM
I play 5/10 and am taking shots at 10/20 when the time is right. I am mostly looking for help on these boards because my advice usually sucks.

Also, i'm looking for someone to "talk poker with". that sounds kind of strange. I mean someone who would like to talk over MSN while playing and whatnot; sweating hands, critique, different views etc. None of my friends play, and i think it would elevate my/your game tremendously. So, if you're interested, PM me.

cheers,

Matt, aka, MrWookie, aka Micro Forum Overloard.

I, too, started with instantbankroll. I'm currently running red hot in the middle of taking a shot at 5/10 6 max. If I win another 100 BB, then I'll officially call it my home.

Ainex, mostly bonus whore 1/2 6 max but I think after another 4k hands of it I'll take a stab at 2/4 FR and SH.

Brad, I play a mix of 6max and Full ring (like 70:30). I am currently at 5/10 pretty comfortably, and have a few thousand hands at 10/20. I usually live in the micros, but fequently lurked ih HUSH and SS, with the occasional post. I plan on making this my new home.

I haven't posted a lot, but I'm trying to make a habit of responding to more strategy posts, and hopefully I'll be able to make some interesting hand posts.

I'm glad to see the forum split.

Steve. Started playing in June after a heart attack laid me up. Started with instant bankroll $75 and have been doing quite well. Had a few set backs, but have always been in the positive. Started at .50/1 and quickly moved up to 1/2. Been reading the 6max posts for some time, and decided it was time to give it a try.

I only have about 1-1.5k hands, but so far it has been very profitable.

I have set a goal to get more active here and now there is a SH forum, I will try even harder. I got burned out at forums in the past, too active. This, however, I need to do to improve my bad game.

These threads are so much fun. Gives me that warm fuzzy feeling...

They call me Dan. I'm currently whoring 1/2 6-max at Absolute, with another shot at 2/4 coming up soon - probably at another site.

FWIW, I started at the free games on UB, then some 1c/2c, then over to Stars where NateDog and I met at the 2c/4c games. (We were easy to pick out, since we were the only TAGs on the site.) 45k hands later, it's for real money. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I've been slacking off, having this "moving on up" location for god knows how long, despite the fact that I still haven't jumped up from .5/1 6max. I don't have that high goals for myself, right now the promise land is 3/6 6max.

I'm another one of those micros posters/lurkers, and with all the fun I've been having with .5/1 6max, I don't know if I'm ever going to move back. (maybe have a little 2/4 FR haiatus or something... assuming I get there)

Play 1/2 6 Max because I am too stupid to save money for a roll at 2/4. Over my last 20k hands I've beaten 1/2 for 5BB/100. Still can't move up...hating life...want to make 8k next summer...still can't move up.

Anyhow i'll return to 1/2 10max maybe one day but for now i'm at .50/1 6max and looking to get to 1/2 maybe 2/4 by xmas(all 6max!).

I play mostly .50/1 6m at Absolute, and 1/2 full ring at Stars. When I have a really bad day at one or the other, I play .50/1 Omaha 8 to earn back some BBs in a hurry. My home base is the micro forum, but I've been lurking (I know, I know...please don't throw tomatoes!) over in HUSH for a while.

I started out at the Stars .05/.1 tables and have slowly worked my way up. I tell myself that I'd make faster progress if it weren't for that irritating J-O-B that takes up so much time. (Also if I would stop depleting my bankroll with SNG buyins...)

Michael. I'm playing 1/2 6-max and have been for my last 10k hands. I build up my banroll playing .5/1 full ring and I'm easily rolled for 2/4. However I want to feel comfortable playing 6-max before moving up to 2/4, and I'm not quite there yet. Started 15 months ago with $20 on Pacific at .05/.10. Worked my way up to .50/1.00 in February. Found out about bonuses. Learned 6-max at 1/2 (before .50/1.00 6-max existed at Party). Played 2/4 there as well (and still do occasionally when I'm in the mood for full ring or have a bonus to clear).

Switched over to Stars and my last 40k hands have been at 2/4 6-max then 3/6 6-max and now 5/10 6-max.

I'm only a slight winner at 5/10 6-max over 7k hands and a loser over 7k hands at party 3/6, but a big winner at 2/4 and 3/6 Stars (both 6-max) over many more.

I mostly posted in micros with a few in hush and small stakes, but will likely be making this my new home. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I started playing last Feb at 1/2 while extremely underbankrolled. I had a fortunate run, and combined with 2+2 advice I managed to build up a solid roll by June. I took the summer off playing pretty much, and started at 1/2 6m in Sept.

10K hands at 1/2 6m, 10K at 3/6 6m and now I'm closing in on my first 10K at 5/10 with the occassional shot at 10/20 when I feel up to it. I will probably actually stick at 5/10 as my main game for a little while longer though instead of just moving up when I hit 500BB's for the next level. A lot of money goes around in that game, and I think I need to experience some real swings so I know I can handle it. Also, I would like a big sample of hands to know that I'm actually beating the game as opposed to just running well.

I started a couple years ago playing a few hours a week. Started with SNG's and a $250 bankroll. I built it up to $2000 and switched to full ring 1/2. About a year ago I made the jump to 6 max and haven't looked back. Making my way up the ladder currently playing 5/10 6 max at Pacific and a lot more hours.

Almost ready for 10/20 and start adding tables and making a real go of all this.

I played about 40k hands of .5/1 and about 10k of 1/2 5max at Paradise in early 2004. Took about a year off from poker to finish school and from general lack of interest.

I knew I would be back, just wasn't sure when. Started up again mid October of this year with $150 on .25/.5 full ring. I felt this would be a good level to start to get things going. Got up 600 BB over 10k hands, I was running very hot and the people at .25/.5 are just awful anyway.

Now I'm playing .5/1 6max with about 5400 hands, usually hopping around picking up bonuses where I can, mostly at Absolute, Stars, Party and Paradise though.

No idea when I'll be moving up, I'll probably start taking some shots at 1/2 around the first of the year.

Been playin' for ~2.5 years or so. Started off full ring, did STT's and MTT's almost exclusively for a year, been playing 3/6 - 10/20 SH for several months now. I now only rarely play full ring other than PLO.

Got started back on paradise nano buying NL. Placed high in a limit tourney that I accidently bought in to (thought I was buying into a NL tourney), decided to start playing limit.

Went to Party, did decent and moved to 1/2. Went a little tilty, then went to 2/4 to win it all back. Good idea. Great! Grand!

Before I lost all of my money, I dropped back down to .5/1, found 2+2 and SSHE and later the joys of 6max.

I'm Surf - I started in the Micro forum a little over 2.5 years ago. I started with $50 in Pokerroom playing the 0.25/0.50 full games. I heard about this "shorthanded" thing when I was moving up to 1/2 and decided to give it a go, to improve my full-ring skill.

I got pummeled every time I moved up in limits after 1/2. 5/10 started with a 15k breakeven stretch. After beating 5/10 for about 100k hands I started taking shots at 10/20. I ran into a -400BB, 17k hand stretch right from the start. It took me months of play + study but I finally built my br to a safe level at 10/20.

I started playing for a living in June, right after my graduation from college. I spent alot of time at 10/20 because living expenses prevented my BR from growing too quick, and I was quite risk-averse. I've recently moved up to 15/30 + 20/40, i play full ring or shorthanded, wherever the fish are. If all goes well I have my eyes set on 30/60 and 50/100 in the next 3-6 months.

I currently moderate both SSHUSH and MHUSH. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to PM me.

I was just a hobby player for a year or two playing in home games and freerolls and $1-$5 buyin NLHE mtts, then I won a WPT seat last january and decided to buy a book or two. I think I bought super system and theory of poker, and I think I found this website from the back of TOP. To this point I had dropped probably 2-3 $100-200 deposits. This is when I switched to limit, read SSHE and a bunch of other books, and started whoring/crushing the micros. I worked up to 5/10 full over the summer and then moved to 5/10 sh a few months ago, and that is my main game right now. In this time I have suffered through around 10k hands of total 10/20 roadkill bankroll crushing mayhem. I'm currently planning on playing another 40-50k hands of 5/10 before my next shot.

I play a lot of other games on the side when I get bored: TD27, O8 PL/FL, PL omaha hi, 200-500 buyin NLHE, SNGs, MTTs. In the next month or two I'm going to start seriously studying the 7-card stud games.

I'm Tim,

I started playing online in April 2005. I read WLLH and deposited $500 on party and began playing 0.5/1, bonus/casinowhored for a while. Jumped to 1/2, 1/2 6max, 3/6 6max and then began to read 2+2. I'm now at 5/10 but have plenty enough for 10/20 and I'm gonna make the jump in a few days.

Hey guys, I'm Brad/PokerSparky. I've been playing poker seriously (I consider seriously to be when SSHE came into my life /images/graemlins/smile.gif) for about 9 months now. I started playing .25/.50 on PokerStars (pre SSHE) and slowly moved up. I now play mainly 2/4, 3/6, and some 5/10. I mainly posted on the micro-limit forum, but since I'm currently working on my short-handed game, I will probably be posting here quite a bit for a while.

I'm glad 2+2 decided to split the shorthanded forums into small stakes and mid-high. I see some respeceted micro-limit posters have migrated to this board as well. Should be fun.

Metetron and I'm here to piss people off and make the occassional 5/10 post from Absolute when I'm not playing 10/20-20/40 on Party/Abs/Prima or need to fill up my extra tables.

I'll also respond to your post if you completely fudged it up or if by some chance it is actually interesting.

I'm PP and am currently playing in the no-man's land between 1/2 and 2/4 6-max at Stars. I want a 400 BB bankroll for each level, since the SH variance is so high. I'm a micros forum refugee and a party split refugee.

I want to thank everyone who posts over here in HUSH. This forum is the classy older sister of the full-ring forums, even though some of us have been relegated to the SSSH ghetto. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Earl

OK not really, but I'm hanging around on the 5/10 tables after a long hiatus from limit. So far it hasn't been going too well, but I think my game is starting to come back a bit.

Tequila? Make mine a Don Julio please, and keep em comin'. There's a shiny nickel in it for ya.

So yeah, like Dan said, we both started at .02/.04 a while back. I bolted to party before he did (though he's way better than me), and played a lot (35k) of .5/1 full before moving to 1/2 full. I hate that game, but only cause my play was a little too LAG, and I had no idea about reading hands/players. Stumbled into a short game, and found that being a semi-LAG can work a bit more effectively there. Been single-tabling (which is quite a bore actually) to develop a bit more hand reading, and learning to take better notes. I've taken some shots at 3/6 with marginal success, and sat at a 5/10 table during a 15BB challenge. I should be overrolled for 3/6 but there are 4 days in Vegas that I don't remember very well, although my fiance claims we had a great time.

Oh, yeah. I have nothing against 2/4 but Party doesn't have it, and I'm lazy. Clicking buttons wears me out.
