Early so no reads. A rough transcript of my thought processes is included in bold.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) converter (http://www.pushfold.com/converter/hhconverter.cgi)

CO (t1610)
Button (t1490)
Hero (t1480)
BB (t1500)
UTG (t1500)
UTG+1 (t1500)
MP1 (t1500)
MP2 (t1420)
MP3 (t1500)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 7/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 7/images/graemlins/club.gif.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls t20, 4 folds, Button calls t20, Hero completes, BB checks.

Ok, easy completion for set value.

Flop: (t80) K/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif (4 players)

<mental cartwheels>
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG+1 bets t60, Button folds, Hero calls t60, BB calls t60.

Well I rarely slowplay, but this board seems pretty benign. Don't really like the flat call from that guy though, maybe he's on a spade draw

Turn: (t260) 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif (3 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG+1 bets t80, Hero raises to t260, BB folds, UTG+1 calls t180.

Hey cool, now I don't have to worry about the spade draw. I'd better start building a pot though, so a raise looks good. I guess UTG+1 has a K so all is well.

River: (t780) K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players)

JESUS [censored] [censored] CHRIST ON A CRACKER HOW [censored] UNLUCKY CAN I [censored] GET? [censored]!!!!!! <mental deep breaths> Okay, maybe he doesn't have the K. Let's see here..

Hero bets t300, UTG+1 raises to t1160
Oh [censored].

River play and comments on the rest of the hand?

On the river, I think you should definitely let him check and bet at you and just call that. He's not going to call you with a busted flush draw, whereas he'll raise you with a K, so just let him fire out (probably smaller because the pot will be smaller) and call that.

With the flush draw out there and the number of people involved in this pot, I'd probably go ahead and bet out 60 or so on the flop. K's will probably hang around and you can start building the pot.

Wow you're right, that never even occured to me. I was absolutely sick about that river and didn't take the time to think things through properly.
