Total Neophyte, me and a buddy bought our first 4 stocks, just last Wednesday:

FO - Fourtne Brands
SHFL - ShuffleMaster
AVY - Avery
GRMN - Garmin

Nothing to sexy - we have a long term buy and hold strategy, and will be reinvesting all dividends.

Damn straight! I was watching the stock for months and when the most recent dip happened I moved "all in". The dip was planned by ADBL because they put all their revenues into solidifying against competition and improving product research rather than generating short term profits for the shareholders. This equates to lower risk and greater long term profits in the future. The third quarter report which came out on November 3rd merely confirmed this. The stock has already risen above 13 dollars giving me a 20% return already. But I think it will hit 20$ by the spring after the company follows its plan on generating profits this new year.

NFLX was almost a two bagger for me this year and I have put everything into ADBL now hoping to generate a similar return next year.

This will probably work real well for you for the short term, but I would be looking to take a lot out as profits after Q4 earnings are announced.

Yes, that isn't a long term bet...at least not with the amount and % I have in it now. Just enjoying the ride /images/graemlins/smile.gif

hmmm dunno whether to take this post seriously or not, as i haven't seen enough of your posts to know...but would you or anybody care to elaborate?

i've certainly studied a lot and feel i know a lot more than my real life peers...but i certainly am a market novice compared to a lot of you.

Is it a bad strategy to stick the whole pile behind a stock you feel is amazing? I'm not looking to retire anytime soon...risk is ok with me...

Or were you perhaps saying that GOOG is a bad bet?
