I agree that those of us in the First World waste way too much food. But I'm not about to start eating out of dumpsters in order to protest it.

Ugh...that's unbelievable. What were her kids like? Did it seem like they were dumpster diving because they were being forced to, or because they actually wanted to?

The kid was pretty skinny if I recall correctly. He seemed like a normal kid though. He got real excited when the new mom bought a gaming system for him to play and when they went to play paintball.

They definitely did it because they wanted to. The step-dad and the new mom got into an argument when they went in to some coffee shop, or whatever, to ask for scraps/leftovers (I think he said they were "conserving").

While I agree that actually living this lifestyle is pretty crazy for someone raising children, you have to admit it raises some pretty obvious points about our society. Why do some people go hungry while others are keeping themselves nourished out of the garbage?
