Summary:
I'm dealt AQoff, check preflop, flop comes with A, I have semi-TPTK with A's and Q, I raise a bet on flop, bet on turn, get two callers to the river. The river pairs the board, I check it, thinking possible set. Someone else bets, I call, they've hit a set on the river, I get screwed out of my TP.
Two questions:
One, should I have raised my AQoff preflop to get the winner out of the pot from the beginning (they hit the pair of 8's on the flop and called a raised bet on the flop and a bet on the turn)?
Two, on the river, should I have..
..bet my TPTK even with the pair on the board knowing it was unlikely someone had a set with only two other players?
OR
..checked and folded on the river knowing someone might have stayed in on a pair of eights with two other people in the pot and hit their set on the river?
OR
..just played it the way I did (check called)?
