howdy,
does anyone know of a good free pop3 provider that i can use for Paradise hand histories? some of them take minutes/hours to show new mail, and i'd like something quick enough to use with pokertracker and gt+. thanks

Use Gmail. In my experience, I can read the emails within a few minutes of requesting them from Paradise.

I used Gmail for exactly two days.

Problem 1...if you use pokertracker to download hand histories, you can no longer download the messages to your hard drive. Only one download available (not IMAP supported.)

Problem 2...if you try to forward those messages to another account so you can download, it clips off the bottom of the messages, so you lose hand histories. Even opening them in the web-based page shows clipped messages, so you can't even copy and paste into a notepad for importing.

Problem 3...Some sites report security issues with Gmail. They don't actually delete your messages even when you do, and if the government ever subpoenas them, they have to turn over any of your messages on their server. A long shot, but with changing legislature, you never know what might come back to bite you.

Gmail bites. Pay for a decent service like Earthlink. You'll get your money's worth.

I use YPOPS with yahoo. YPOPS lets you use the free Yahoo account as POP provider. I have trouble when I use it with Thunderbird, but it works look a charm with PT.
