Party Thanksgiving VIP bonus question

For the Thanskgiving VIP Club bonus it says if you earn X number of party points you will get X number of dollars and if you earn double those points you will get double the money. Is it if you earn the larger number of party points you get the first bonus plus the second one? Or if you earn the greater number of party points you get the bigger bonus?
