Nice day, cloudy & warm(mid 50s). Got on the river about noon, looked for risers but saw none until 2:30. March Browns. It was nice to throw flies I could see. Had to leave at 3:30 but moved a number of fish.

Tonite its be-bop with Buddy DeFranco. This mans been traveling and performing for 63 yrs. Should be an excellent concert. It will be interesting to see how my teenage daughters like the show.

General fishing season opens tomorrow here in California. sounds like its warmer in Montana right now. anyhows I'm pretty excited as I've got some hiking trips planned for the Feather and the Rubicon. I'll keep you posted of anything noteworthy.

The water on the Clark Fork was up a bit(Alberton) and murky. Still decent, fish were coming up for the mayflies. Started about 2:30. Check Kingfisher report in the morning. They update daily. Access at montanatu.org Rock Creek is fishing well. Unless water kicks up I expect things to continue. It was nice to use #14 and a #12 parachute adams would have probably been better. Rose a few fish on Skwala but switched when I saw March Browns. Tight lines.

nope. I should give it a try but it sounds like its always crowded on the weekends so I never check it out. one of these days though.

I avoid the weekends here also. Heck sometimes there will be 3 or 4 cars in the parking lot.

Have you checked out Northern Cal?

for a day trip, try the north or middle forks of the american. wait a couple of months for the snow pack to go away, though.
