does ANYONE here use the expanded mode to view the forum index, instead of collapsed mode?

I expect this poll will show about 10-20% of people using expanded mode, but I'm not going to put money on it.

Let's talk about a real travesty, like the fact that I can no longer use threaded mode after the last [censored] forum upgrade. Is anyone working on fixing the problem that you can no longer tell which posts in a thread you have viewed?

You usually use threaded mode? Doesn't that make it a pain to read posts? I'm not sure what you mean about posts you've already viewed either.

Might as well ask this one too.

I know a lot of people don't like it, but it worked well for me. I have a lot of time at work to look at the boards, but it's often sporadic. I would rather be able to look at individual posts than repeatedly scroll through one long thread. This also allows me to not waste time reading posts if I'm disinterested in what the poster has to say. It's also nice to have a clear view of the post to which people are responding, especially when a thread gets large.

Anyways, unread posts in threaded mode used to be bolded. Once read, they are no longer bold. Since the upgrade, I see now way to differentiate between read and unread posts inside of a thread. So I'm stuck in flat mode, which makes me sad /images/graemlins/frown.gif

i think it's possible that after the next forum upgrade threaded mode will cease to exist. we'll see what happens though.

are you sure you're talking about what i'm talking about?

i'm talking about the index, where they list the threads. i agree that looking at an individual post in expanded mode is a ton of work...
