Minutes of the Federal Open Market Committee meeting are due for release this afternoon, and it seems that some analysts predict further interest-rate increases down the line. On similar occasions in the past, we have seen trading remain subdued during the morning session, on low volume, as investors play a wait-sand-see game, so it's possible that the real action will come in the final 90 minutes of the day.

the minutes dont move the mkt like the actual fed movement. maybe on rare occasions but generally nothing really significant happens. i watch the mkt everday for last 4 yrs.
the fed is really not as all powerful as people think. mortgage rates have not moved in conjuction with the fed, etc. people overrate the significance of it.

Banks will have to budge really really soon if the rates continue to rise. It is getting pretty close to where banks are better off having their money invested elsewhere than lending it at the current rates.

We have already started to see mortgage rates under pressure and this will definately continue.

I saw a report that said everytime the fed stops with significant series of consecutive rate hikes, the market goes down over the next 6 months.

Not sure if this is because they have over hiked and ruined the economy or what exactly.
