A hand in this evening's 40K at Party - want some thoughts from others on this...

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (10 handed)

MP1 (t1077)
MP2 (t800)
MP3 (t4335)
CO (t1345)
Button (t911)
SB (t1198)
Hero (t1750)
UTG (t1812)
UTG+1 (t725)
UTG+2 (t1548)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, J/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.
3 folds, MP1 calls t50, 1 fold, MP3 calls t50, 2 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (t200) T/images/graemlins/heart.gif, Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (4 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, MP1 bets t50, MP3 raises to t250, SB folds, Hero calls t250, MP1 calls t200.

Turn: (t950) 5/images/graemlins/club.gif (3 players)
Hero checks, MP1 checks, MP3 bets t600, Hero pushed....

What are your thoughts on that play? At this point, I'm figuring that I got 15 outs, and MAYBE 3 more with the aces.

Would appreciate other opinions.....

if i was going to push, the logical place seems like the flop. now you've pot committed at least one villian, maybe more. the idea is to win it w/o a showdown, i think. =/

I like to pump the flop up and not the turn in a hand like this.

i lead out on the flop, if it gets raised i 3 bet, if he pushes i call, if he just calls the 3 bet, i'm putting the rest in on the turn.

If my flop bet is just called, i'll fire again on the turn, and if he raises i'd probably call.

edit: i don't know why i didnt give any "reasoning" behind that. You have a relaly strong hand w/ the flushdraw/OESD/Overcard, and you should bet it like it is. You're better than a pair here, and when you improve your hand, it's to the nuts.

oh yeah, not to be a nit, but i would definitely bet/3bet this flop. and if i didnt, i would do all i could to get all my chips in. you really missed an opportunity on the flop i think. your hand gets significantly weaker on a blank turn, and on a non blank turn, your implied odds may not be all that great considering you've announced to everyone that you're on a draw.

rest of the hand..........

MP1 folded to my push. MP3 called my all in.

River was an A.

MP3 had QJ.

So I doubled up. Then had to watch him tell me how HORRIBLE my play was and that I was such a donk, and that I played it really badly, yada yada yada.

Then wanted some other opinions..... /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yeah I learnt this the hard way the other day when I pushed the turn on a strong draw and the river blanked. Flop aggression is the way to go.
