I need a printer -- looking for tech suggestions

I need a printer to do black and white stuff — text. That's it, that's all of it. I don't need to print photos (I outsource), I just need text. But every printer on the market I've seen is either fairly expensive or seems cheap and does color, faxing, scanning, photos, etc...

I just wanna do text, and cheap.

Look for a used laserjet 4L

If you go inkjet, check the price of the ink cartidges prior to purchase. Some of them include the print head in the reload and it's more expensive than buying a new printer every time the ink runs out.

For example, I got a freebie Dell (Lexmark) printer with a laptop purchase. Ink cartridges were almost $50 and thats was online. I used it till the cartridge ran out, then tossed it in the garbage.

Definitely get a cheap b/w laserjet. Check SlickDeals.net for updates - they randomly have very cheap ones available from Amazon or Buy.com.
