Villan is typical player. Kinda passive.

Would you fold preflop or call and fold flop UI? Or neither?

If I am playing this hand I think raising is better than three-betting. After pre-flop, I think hero played the hand excellently. My point is simply that passive players aren't stealing from the cutoff with total crap and automatically going into power mode because you have an A is probably misguided.

I made a lengthy post about big blind defense on Wednesday. My basic point was that I think it is generally better to three-bet if you decide to defend your blind in this position and your hand has showdown value. But, I also think many players misjudge the value of their hand in relation to the likely raising ranges of their "stealing" opponents. A passive player raising in the cutoff will often have a range which A7 does very poorly against.
