NL Hold 'Em satellite for the $200 on PokerStars
I'm dealt A6s in the small blind.
I've got 2,200 chips in the 75/150 round. Big blind has 4,400 chips.
All folded to me. I raise to 600. BB calls.
Flop is 3 8 3, two of which are of my suit.
I move in on him (my remaining 1,600 chips), thinking that I have at least 9 outs on the flush alone and possibly more. My decision is influenced by having noticed him playing quite loosely pre-flop. I believe that the possibility of his folding without a fight makes the move positive EV.
BB calls, and flips over pocket 55. One of them is the same suit as the 2 on the board.
No help arrives for me on the turn or river, and I bust out of the satellite.
It looks like I had 14 outs and was actually a slight favorite there.
Did I play correctly and was the bustout just bad luck that:
a) he called
and
b) no help arrived
