#20 out of 1,400 in free roll on PP last night ($20) and #50 today out of 4,000 players (won $75) for $5 entry (also on PP). The second tournament actually had 1,500 entrants but there were almost 3,000 rebuys (lol!).

Grats on the cashes!

Just to clear things up, you didn't play the rebuy like a freezeout did you?
i.e. you did take the add-on at the very least?

I would assume with a 20$ BR atm he wouldnt have took the Rebuy.

Looking at it from this perspective.

Scenario 1, $10 for 1 tournament after the first hour.
Scenario 2, $10 for 2 tournaments after the first hour.

Which is he more likely to land ITM?

I understand Rebuy theory(a little) as well as addons, but seeing how his BR is limited, i think you throw those out the window and take two at bats, generally a good deal of poker left to play after the first hour.

On the rebuy tournament, I got knocked back to $900 (from about $2,500) with KK against a loose player who played any A from any position (he later became one of the chip leaders by constantly going all-in with any A- I think at one point he had over $200,000 before losing it all in the late stages of the tournament).

I decided to re-buy for $5 ($1,000 chips) so if I doubled up I would be slightly ahead of the average stack (avg was about $3,500 at the time) instead of waiting 10 mins for the add-on option to become available ($1,500 chips for $5).

I busted out in the SB when it was folded around to me and I raised the BB 4x with AJs. He had K3s. After the flop, the pot was about equal to my stack so I pushed. He caught a 3 on the flop and called and it held up.

If you're making a pot sized bet with your stack hes going to call you most of the time, you should definitely push it all in pre flop..

Other than that, congrats. Personally I have a lot of trouble making the money in tournaments, still waiting for that big win /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks...

As for the 4x raise vs pushing: I actually wanted him to call as I my AJs was bound to be better than a random hand... I needed to double as my M was only around 8. If my M would have been 6 or less, then I would have gone all in.
