The GF is still in school and her computer sucks so I figured Id get her a new laptop for christmas. It doesnt have to be anything special. Anyone have any suggestions for a decent price on a decent machine?

Id prefer something that would hook up to the wireless lan in the house.

On black friday (Friday after thanxgiving) Walmart will be sellign crappy laptops for 400$ they are not that good, but decent enough and are very cheap

I don't know what cheap means, but the 12" apple ibook can be had for a grand and she'll love it.

Apples suck, a grand isn't cheap in any means, and 12" is tiny.

Go to fatwallet and find the Black Friday topic - there's bound to be one for a few hundred and these are usually the best deals of the yuear on the low end.
