The resolution for the 2405 is set at 1680x1050. There is still a slight vertical overlap of 4 Stars tables.

Is it the best it can do, or is there another setting where I can get 4 with absolutely no overlap?

Tks

1600x1200 is needed for no overlap.

2001fp is what you should have gotten.

max res for a 2405 is 1920x1200 which would give you no overlap. IF you don't see that as an option maybe your video card won't support it. If thats the case you might be out of luck.

Thanks, turns out they sent me the wrong monitor!

So, I should be okay once this gets rectified.

How much bigger (if at all are the tables on the 2405 than the 2001FP)? I might just go with the 2001FP since I'll be sending this back.

If my calculations are right, the 2405 is roughly 5-6% taller than the 2001fp. Not much difference. Hopefully someone that has both can chime in and give you a better answer, but that's a decent ballpark figure. No more than about 3/4" height difference. If it's just for poker, you'll save a lot of money by going with the 2001fp vs. the 2405fpw.

i have a 2405 24 inch on the way to me...
i also have a 2005FPW 20.1 inch widescreen...the 2005 stinks in that you cannot 4 table with no overlap - it cannot
do the resolution...it's OK for 3 tabling...or 1 or 2 tabling and surfing the web on the side...but I'd recommend you not get the 2005FPW (if you intend on playing poker with it - I'm sure it's awesome for gamers, multitaskers - but not for 4 tabling poker with no overlap...).

I think the 24 inch will not only allow 4 tabling w/ no overlap, but will allow a
web window to be open on the side for surfing the web while 4 tabling (all w/ no overlap at all...).
I hope this is the case! I should be getting my 24 incher monster soon - I paid $810.

Similar sized monitors easily I see selling for double, so I think the Dell 2405 is a great value...

The 2001fp is on sale now on the Dell website, but I'm sure you can get it for a little cheaper
elsewhere...two 2001fps side-by side would no doubt be awesome...good luck...

Anybody have a 24 incher care to comment on it?

I ahve the 24" widescreen with 1920x1200 res. and it is unbelievable. 4 table with room for AIM boxes (just about - def. buddy list) and the picure is great. It;s what I use to wathc movies. I got it 35% off + some other coupon. It comes out to like $250 or so more than the 20". Owning this, had i bought the 20" id kick myself when i saw this one.

w/ my 2405, I put a few basic apps in the left over space, but I don't think it's big enough for a web window. I keep an IM client open, Game Time +, maybe itunes open in the extra space. I surf on my other monitor.

I have 2x 2001FPs and 1x 2405FPW, and may be buying MORE 2001FPs.

Yes, it's heaven.
