Early button play (blind stealing) in $15 turbo

I wonder how often people make some sort of play in this position, almost regardless of cards. Or is it just not worth it with a bad hand at this level?

For those of you who are getting involved frequently: does it matter what your cards are or is it a purely positional play?

I steal with a pretty large range of hands, but not with J4, Q2 or 72 because I feel I have to steal.

I feel level 3 stealing is more tricky because here people get the urge to defend their blind (earlier the blinds are so small so they don't care, later they have to risk too big a portion of their stack so they don't dare) so I see more odd blind play here than in any other level. This is for Party and it might be different for Pokerstars.

I tend to be less inclined to steal early in a turbo* than a regular SNG. Turbo players tend to overcompensate on the aggression, (rather like 6-max ring) particularly at low buy-ins, and I've found are more likely to defend their blinds and play back at you when it's still cheap to do so.

I'd pretty much only steal with hands I'd be comfortable seeing a flop with.


*I play Stars SNG's quite frequently, but I tend to avoid turbos and have played far fewer (personal preference).

In the first 2 levels I fold all hands on the button except AK, AQ (which I sometimes fold), 88+. It's just not worth it to screw around for a measly 30-45 chips. My goal in the first 2-3 levels is to play for top pair-top kicker, overpair, or a set. That's it.
