View Full Version : "Best Buddy" or just "Guy I spend the most time with"

I went out tonight with my best buddy, or possibly “the guy I just spend the most time with.” We went to a bar and met up with 10 or so friends. Later we went to another bar.
At this bar my best friend, or maybe just “the guy I spend the most time with,” and another close friend of mine say that they are going somewhere else and that I need not concern myself with it.
I think about how I would never say something like that to them, or about how my best buddy from Chicago would never in a million years say something to that effect. I’m so confused, that I just keep repeating at loud volume, “what is going on here?!”
They leave the bar and go wherever.
Can any of you imagine your best friend doing such a thing? I’m seriously turned around right now.

this is very strange for a best buddy to do. Didn't even give you a reason? I suspect you are not his best buddy. And anyway, who needs best buddies that do this stupid [censored]

Unless he was planning a suprise party for you, find a new best buddy.

Lemme tell you what I would do. I would kill him and get a new best buddy.

Also, did you consider the fact that maybe you were so drunk and incoherent that you really had no clue as to what was going on?

Maybe they went off to have steamy anal sex.

I doubt beetz has best buddies like that. More likely, they had two Asian models call them and beetz was a drunken mess, so they left to go bang the models.

I see it as a blessing when people I think are friends throw me under the bus. Less people I have to deal with.
That said if they did not leave you in dire straights you might wait for an explanation before jumping to conclusions/worrying about it.

No doubt about it. Coke often causes these mini betrayals that are very annoying.

This sort of thing seems really likely.
That said- it's a dick move and most def not something with "best friend status" should do.

One of my best buddies did this to me one too many times. Needless to say, he's no longer a friend. He seemed perplexed that I didn't want to hang out with him after the last time he "had a better offer" and took off on me at a bar.
Some people are only interested in immediate pleasure and don't put any thought into how their behaviour affects their friends. I avoid these people like the plague.

meh. people still are embarrassed or whatever about doing blow, especially around friends who don't. I wouldn't consider this (if this happened by chance to be the reason) a betrayal.

I just hopped on to see if this post existed or if it was a dream.
Ok, soooo, I got it.
See...... "We're going to roll to this other joint to bang these model chicks, but you can't go because you're blackout drunk and will pour salt all over our game....." is fine. It’s more than fine. Would have been happy to stay and get after it where I was, I already had Jessica's number :-)
How did it end for everybody? He was home before I got home, so I guess not great.
The cab driver told me that the moon was in some phase of [censored] that meant that since she was a Libra and I was an Aquarius that we would have difficulty communicating. My head hurts worse than it has in several years.

It's 2005, I doubt many people would be disturbed if a friend said "We're going to do coke, you're welcome to come with us, but I figured you wouldn't be interested".
At least that's what my friends generally do.

My experiences are that people are still sketchy about it, and the people who do it try and hide it. Weird I agree. It may be an age thing to?

Yea I tell you what, you never know who your friends are until situations like this arise. It seems in my social net there are plenty of "buddies" around for the situaion, but I always have had two or three close friends to stick with.
As other people have said, if you don't like it, find new friends.
