i'm really frustrated because after all that time i busted out in fourth. what am i supposed to do with these situations where it's pretty much all blind steals?

The second he completes the SB, I am pushing this about 135% of the time.

i STILL don't know what to push with on the bubble, i'm supposed to play tight, but i want to get ITM, etc. etc. i don't know wtf is going on.

is there really time to do that in-game? and what if i don't have a read on them?

no you don't use that in game. think about it -- he limps in, suggesting he has a weak-mediocre holding. you have one of the best hands in the game and 800 dead chips out there. push and take them!

11-19-2005, 05:22 AM
i have the demo and it looks like it's used to decide about pushing giving blinds/stacks/etc. so wouldn't it be in-game then?

i realized i should have pushed though.

not for in game use, you can load up your entire hand history afterwards and it will show if your pushes were +ev.

it helps immensely, get the program.

i will, is it just for pushes and calling pushes?

this might be an easy push A) because its easy and B) because im drunk, last drunk post of the night, sorry mom

can i guess offhand that any Ax shortstacked is a push? if so, does this apply on the bubble? that's what i'm really curious about. on the bubble, you play tight, but everyone else plays tight, so you should play loose /images/graemlins/confused.gif

i think with even stacks utg im folding A5 and below if not more, but this is just off hand and depends how big blinds are, but like others have said get SNG power tools so you can play with it and really get pooooshing mechanical

136% of the time

does it matter he's the SB? i don't think his strategy really changes much for a few hundred more chips at this level.

you might want to think he is trapping by completing, but odds are he is a moron willing to give you 200 more chips. People complete all the time from the SB with crap hoping to get a free flop and either hit something or buy it. If he completes like this im pushing a lot of hands. I like to think any ace and king for sure

11-19-2005, 05:57 AM
yeah, that makes sense i suppose.

one worry is that if he's big stacked, he'll call my push anyway, and odds are he'll bust me out (say he's 4x or so).

side question, i find it's very hard to get reads on players, since you rarely see their cards and i usually haven't played them before as well. and since late in game everyone is trying to steal usually anyway, if i use this power tools how do you go about rating the players? that really affects their hand range.

If you dont have reads its good to just try and use a "typical" range. What you normally expect until they give you reason to think differently. I 10 table and dont believe reads are really necessary at the 30s because most people are pretty bad.

11-19-2005, 06:09 AM
ok, 10 tables how does that work when it gets SH? the hands go by so fast.. the most i've done is two at a time and even that gets a bit hectic late on.

well now that I'm an old hand which is cool a lot of it is just playing a lot so its more or less automatic. You will pass up some edges by playing more tables but once you build up to it its worth it in $/hr. I remember when 4 tabling seemed very hectic, and 10 tabling certainly gets hectic so it helps to try and stagger them so you dont have 10 games 4 handed or something like that. my final advance of the night its play more, push more, and study power tools more and probably call more all ins too.

ok, thanks for the advice /images/graemlins/cool.gif
