villian got his chips by limping on second hand of tourney with ajo and calling down with top pair. seems to be a moderately loose passive.

his check raise was instantaneous. any thoughts?

What are you sick about?

Seems like a fine way to play it to me. When he checkraises, there are way too many hands (Q 10) seems likely that have you crushed. I would also bet the turn, because hands like kq and qj will call your bets to the river. If you check the turn and he bets 200, what do you do? Sometimes people catch up, and a good players aggressiveness makes them prone to check raises. I would rather be check raised occasionally than give free cards all the time.

My early game default is to always give credit to the check/call, check/raise line. If he's making a move that's okay. You can snap him off later.

The only thing I would criticize is that your turn bet is rather weak. If you're going to bet at all, I would make it at least half the pot. Anything less is just lame.

i dont really think there is a whole lot of difference betweeen betting 100 and 125(half pot), so are you in favor of something more like 200ish here?

Yes. I consider half the pot the bare minimum when betting a hand.

I'd bet more like T150 on the turn. Besides that I play it the same as you although for the msot part I give little credit to people at the 22s. But the fact that you have a read on him saying he's passive (i.e. limping AJo and calling down with TP) I like your turn play.
