How do you calc the odds of getting the card you need when you draw or in stud when you can see so many cards out?

(number of cards in the deck - number of cards you've seen) / number of cards you need to improve

Subtract 1 from this number to get the odds against making your hand when drawing 1 card. If you don't subtract 1, then you get the probability X as in "1 in X". The denominator is the number of unseen cards that would make your hand, aka "outs".
