$2/$4 nl 6 max......
I have AJs utg+1 and raise to $12. Two callers. Flop is A-K-7 rainbow. Check, I check, last to act bets $20. Folded to me, and I raise to $40, he calls. Turn is an 8, and I bet $45 and get called. River is a 3, what's your move?

wow, that was ugly. i'd bet all streets, his hand range looks like A(J-x).
As it was played I'd put out a half pot bet on the river.

1/2 pot
Yup, this was played terribly. Bet the flop, bet the turn, and certainly dont check-raise the river. Lead this out 99% of the time.

So you don't like the check-raise on the flop, or do you just think I should be raising more on the flop? How would you have played the hand?

bet the flop
So you're never check-raising here?
Let's say same scenario, instead I bet the flop, get called. Bet bigger on the turn and get called. You are still coming out and betting the river 1/2 pot?

Yep. No reason to think you are beat. Depends on player type -- if he's passive, bet the river, if he's aggressive, check to him on the river and let him bet.
That min check/raise on the flop is awful, it builds the pot with a well-defined medium strength hand out of position and gives him odds to call with just about anything.
