The way I wanted this hand to go was for me to limp, SB to complete, BB to push, then myself and the SB call and check it down. Then, we'd be on the bubble with a real short stack. But...

Read on SB is that he plays too many pots and over plays some hands. Min-raise is usually his standard raise.

FPS. Push preflop and stop this nonsense with limping AK to "trap".

there are a couple ways to play this hand imo. shoving, obviously is a play. folding isnt so obvious, but still can work. limping is.. an interesting idea, but im not sure how often i do that or how much i like it. there are 2 stacks on the brink of extinction, which is why folding is ok.

shoving is.. well, shoving 11x with AK isnt ever really bad 5 handed. limping.. can put yerself in a spot where you can get into trouble, so i duno how much i like that. normal raptor play would be to just shove it. so ill go with that.

oh, and for how the hand went.. i honestly dont think a fold is terrible at this point, as you are facing a 235 and 280 stack and you will still have 1548. holla

I fully agree with raptor's above post. This is one of those spots where you can pass up a +EV scenario becuase of the uniqueness in the fact that there are two uber-short stacks.

So, are you saying that normally this is a push for you. However, given the way I played it, you'd probably fold? This is what I got from Raptor's post.

I actually thought my plan was a good one, but no one is agreeing. I've got a lot to learn! lol

assuming everything works out the way you think it will, your plan is decent at best. there are entirely too many variables that lead into it though that cause everyone to shout out FPS FPS FPS. theres no need to limp here to try to get tricky with those 2 short stacks in there. its just not worth it. sometimes the most basic play is the best. holla

Thanks for the comments guys, I'll stick to the straight forward plays as Raptor suggests. Here's what happened.

Final Pot: t3456

Results:
Hero has Ah Kc (one pair, sevens).
SB has Jc As (one pair, sevens).
Outcome: Hero wins t3546.

I went on to use my big stack to get a massive chip lead before the bubble broke and took first, but this hand stuck in my head as being questionable.
