Fold preflop. I'd be raising this flop like a mofo.

I fold the turn and river too.

Any read on your opponent?

I would bet the turn (1/2 to 2/3 pot) and hope he doesn't have the Q.

I'm probably willing to go broke with this hand, so if he raises me, I'm not folding. Likewise, the way it played out, I'd call (or raise) the river.

I'd check/raise all-in on this flop. The overbet looks fishy which may induce calls but your hand is so powerful that a call is fine.

I like this line if you're going to checkraise. I think your biggest mistake was calling villain's bet on the flop, instead of raising. I would of folded this preflop, however, as you're hu oop vs. 1 opponent with a drawing hand that only plays well multiway. If the sb would of completed, then I would of probably called.

Well I don't agree with anything said in this thread. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong, but I'm definitely calling pf. I think it's weak as hell to fold here, but I like playing postflop so maybe that's just me.

I actually like the flop check call because you can sell that you're on a weak hand or a 9 and check-raise the turn. I only like it if your plan is to check-raise the turn big. He's probably drawing pretty slim. I also check-call this turn because he could've made two pair or something and you have significantly underrepresented your hand (which is fine). I check-fold the river though. If he gets you to fold the best hand, good for him, but he doesn't bet a worse one very often IMO. Board is scary as hell for anything but a straight. He probably will bet a chop again tho which sucks. Whatever tho.

Check-raising this flop all-in is disgusting IMO because it make everything fold. Bad way to build a pot.

I don't mind leading the flop either and then weak-leading or c/r-ing the turn (not this turn, but THE turn).

Whenever I can increase my stack with no pair-9 kicker I am fine with it. Check-calling draws like this when it's headsup is only asking for the other guy to push you off the hand on the turn. I'll happily increase my stack with 30% by check-pushing this flop.

If I am going to get fancy and build pots with a draw there has to be more than one opponent in the hand with me.

Hahahaha no doubt! Dude he has a made straight on the flop, not a draw! Check-pushing is obviously terrible as it's a massive over bet with the second nuts.

Also I don't see how folding preflop isn't automatic! You're only getting 3:1, you have 9-high and he's got position on you!

This flop is THE dream flop for your hand. I normally make it 300 here but I think your call is okay too. The turn card is terrible for you and honestly no option works very well here so I'd default to calling the turn and folding the river which sucks but I don't really see a better line here! Don't get in this spot in the first place!

Doh. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ok, since you guys persist that it is a made hand and not a draw, I'm fine with check-calling.

Why call the turn bet if you're not gonna call the river bet?

Well calling the turn bet might let him get to showdown cheaper than it turned out. He doesn't always smack you on the river.
