Are you familar with the annual jazz festival that bears the name of part time Whitefish resident Buddy DeFranco?


Could you recomend some dry flies that I should tie for my daughter? She hired on as a wrangler and will spend the summer in Glacier.

no idea about the first (or the second, really), but I think a standard assortment of hoppers, stones and caddis would get her through the summer. How about a "Royal Hopper"?

seriously, though. best thing you could do for her is buy a travel kit with various materials and tools, and tell her to tie whatever's coming off.


She'd just trade the ones you tie for beer and fish a department store Royal Wulff anyway.

never heard of the festival. its not around my neck of the woods anyway.

hoppers and goofus bugs during late july and august and early sept.


did i say adams


elk hair caddis


ants, and small black flies


in the park all fishing is in the lakes.

good fishing for cutts in the middle fork of the flathead, catch and release regulations apply.


as it gets closer i can give more help. although im planning a trip.
