HANDS #2- These guys were pretty laggy, especially mwepr. I expected him to call me with like Ax, any pair, KQ, possibly KJ or QJ too depending on his mood. Should I just limp for a set and try to stack him/them? If I limp, should I call a raise? Or if I just make a standard raise like 250, should I be willing to call an all in? I guess in retrospect I would have had position after the flop, but still, 7s are a bitch to play with overcards on the board and kerbee played decently post flop (for a $22). Obviously once kerbee called me I know I was probably GG’d, but I’m trying not to be results oriented about this.

Excellent post, these bubble/pushbot hands are the biggest leak in my game at the moment, IMO. Or it could not be a leak, and I'm just getting unlucky, I don't know... but this should be a good way to find out! I look forward to hearing some responses.

The last hand where I had JJ, I won. Both of my opponents had KK (the worst possible scenario for me is them splitting the pot and leaving me with 0 chips, obviously.) However, I rivered the jack and was left with a lot of chips. I then managed to use these ~6k chips to get first by some miracle. I don't really want to talk about results though.

I'm gonna give it another go tonight, might drop to the 11s depending how things go. I'll probably make another post, or post some full HH's tomorrow. Also if anyone who has a pretty decent ROI at the 22s wants to swap HH's PM ME.
And also I'd like to say sorry I'll try to post more interesting / close bust out hands.

[/ QUOTE ]Your raise to 100 on the flop meant that villian had to put 70 chips in the pot for a chance to win 340. You're giving him great odds to stick around with a flush draw. If you raise to something like 250, it becomes questionable whether he should stick around for his draw.

It doesn't make much sense to me to raise to 425 on the turn (leaving yourself just 175). Might as well put all your chips into the pot now since you're going to call on the river even when a danger cards comes -- you don't want villian to be able to get off the hand when he doesn't hit on the river (the blinds ares still low enough that he'll have some play with 345 in chips).

All the other hands look pretty routine to me.

I'm not really sure if I played this right, but here's my thinking... I can't be 100% sure he has two hearts on the flop. I want to keep this guy in the hand. He min raised, meaning he could have A2-AK. Chances are I have him beat on the flop. If I raise to 250 on the flop, he calls, am I supposed to totally abandon the hand? Its much easier to abandon if I only raise to 100....

On the turn, I'm obviously calling any river. It just seems like people are more likely to call (which i want), if i bet a bit less than all in

This is wrong thinking. The pot is currently about half your stack. You want it, without a showdown if possible, if he calls, fine, but he's making a mistake to. You want to take it down NOW. That's the key to winning tournaments.
