Written by Oscar Hijuelos, author of The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love, a Pulitzer Prize winning book (which I have not read).
This is an excellent book about a man struggling with the loss of a family member and his religious faith.
The writing is simple, clean and earnest.
If you ever feel like picking up a random 250 page book try this one. I don't think you will be dissapointed.
