I want to send my parents on a cruise (possibly this summer or the next). Basically as a gesture of appreciation.
They are somewhat religious and like to go sight seeing and the such.
Any suggestions in terms of what company I should be looking at, and what my budget should be? I want to keep it around the 4k-5k mark. The length of time away is preferably 4 days - 2 weeks. Any suggestions?

That being said, if they are a bit older and not necessarily crazy about the whole laying on the deck, riding jet skis etc. what about a cruise up in Alaska? I'm sure there would be some really interesting stuff to see, and it's a bit of a departure from the standard caribbean thing.

I'm not sure you could do the whole trip for under 5k, but I went on a Mediterranean cruise which was pretty awesome. Besides being a great place to go on a cruise, it allowed for some fun sightseeing before/after the cruise (it sailed out of some small Italian port city about an hour trainride out of Rome. Since we flew from Mineapolis->London->Rome we could conveniently spend a few days in London and Rome.

I've been on 3 cruises, all on Princess Cruises. Eastern Caribbean, Western Caribbean, and Southern Caribbean. All were great. Its usually about $900-$1100 pp for a balcony room (7 day cruise). Definitely get a balcony or suite if possible.
