View Full Version : Tracking Software Advice

Sorry if this is not the appropriate place for this post, but the Software forum didn't seem to address this and this was described as the 'newbie' forum so...

I'm new to poker. I've been playing for less than a month and been having a good time, but I want to start to really work on my game. I've read a couple of the 2+2 books(and re-read them, and then re-read them, and slept with them under my pillow). This has of course helped my game but now i'm wondering if it is time to buy tracking software that I read about.

Is it gonna do me any good at this stage of my play?

Is PokerTracker the only software out there? What other options might there be?

Thanks In Advance,
Kevin

Yes buy poker tracker.
the beginners forum is the newbie forum, not the mirco limit forum.

PT is useful at any level, so long as you don't let it become a crutch.

It's hardly all inclusive, but here's (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=2903154&an=&page=&vc=1) a post from a few months ago (software forum) that talks about the software that is currently available.

I think you'll find most people recommend Poker Tracker. I do.

I think they still provide a free (http://www.pokertracker.com/) trial.

I concur, Poker Tracker is the way to go. Here is a link to a thread (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/favlinker.php?Cat=0&Entry=149924&F_Board=micro&Thr ead=3679785&partnumber=&postmarker=) on a great use for it. I use it more to analyze my play at the end of a session as opposed to all the statistical features.

Coincidentally, I just downloaded the free trial for PokerTracker last night. It has a lot of neat features. I'll probably buy it sooner or later.

If you haven't downloaded the free trial yet, you should definitely do at least that much.
