I have played about 17.000 over half a year. My stats are 17/7/1,6 and I'm trying to increase my aggression both pre and postflop. Below are three examples where I think I might not have been aggressive enough.

Hand 1

Villian in this hand is 48/8/1,3

ShouldI cap the flop and lead the turn here?

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx (http://www.zerodivide.cx/converter)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K/images/graemlins/club.gif, Q/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
UTG calls, 2 folds, MP1 calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, 3 folds, BB calls, UTG calls, MP1 calls.

Flop: (8.50 SB) 4/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 3/images/graemlins/heart.gif, K/images/graemlins/spade.gif (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, MP1 bets, Hero raises, BB folds, UTG folds, MP1 3-bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (7.25 BB) 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
MP1 bets, Hero calls.

River: (9.25 BB) A/images/graemlins/club.gif (2 players)
MP1 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 11.25 BB

Hand 2:

On the flop my thought is that there must be a better ace with 3 opponents. Should I bet out instead?

Villian is 22/9/2 over 100 hands.

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx (http://www.zerodivide.cx/converter)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, A/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, 3 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (4 SB) J/images/graemlins/heart.gif, A/images/graemlins/club.gif, Q/images/graemlins/club.gif (4 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG+1 bets, MP2 folds, SB folds, Hero folds.

Final Pot: 2.50 BB

Hand 3:

UTG+1 is 31/4/0,9 over 100 hands
BB is 22/9/2 over 100 hands

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx (http://www.zerodivide.cx/converter)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 4/images/graemlins/club.gif, 4/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 4 folds, Hero completes, BB checks.

I figure the pot is too small to make it profitable to play for a set even from the SB, getting 6:1, would be be better to raise and hopefully fold BB?

Flop: (3 SB) T/images/graemlins/club.gif, K/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 6/images/graemlins/spade.gif (3 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, UTG+1 calls, Hero folds.

Turn: (2.50 BB) A/images/graemlins/club.gif (2 players)
BB bets, UTG+1 calls.

River: (4.50 BB) J/images/graemlins/spade.gif (2 players)
BB bets, UTG+1 raises, BB calls.

Final Pot: 8.50 BB

Definately bet out in hand 2

In hand 3, consider raising if you're on the button.

These aren't terrible by any standard. I'm sure you can find other examples of passive play stronger than these.

in hand one it seem like MP1 has hit his set. good pfr and flop raise. i call down here most of the time.

hand 2 is deffinantly too passive. in an unraised pot you need to bet out on this flop. read ed miller's post.

hand 3 is fine. you should only play small pp's for their set value. you should fold when u miss, especially when ur hand becomes an underpair to the board

In hand 1 I don't think there is much reason to cap. If he thinks his mid PP/weak king is good no reason to convince him otherwise, and if he flopped a set or 2pr you're setting yourself up for a turn checkraise. I play the same aside from leading the flop in hand 2. but I'm probably not aggressive enough either.

I think hand one is fine. Capping the flop doesn't accomplish much. Based on the action you are either WA/WB. Calling down is fine.

Hand 2 I would have led the flop with all the draws. If raised call and stop and go a non scary turn. No reason to think you're behind yet and if you are behind to a bigger A (not likely 22/9 is limping AK/AQ/AJ in this spot) you have outs to a split.

Hand 3 is fine to complete, but if UTG+1 is the type that folds on the flop a lot for one bet then raising is a decent option. His stats make him appear loose and passive which would make it a bad idea.

These aren't horrible.

Hand 1: Fine.

Hand 2: Bet the flop. You'll have the best hand here most of the time.

Hand 3: You're only getting 5:1 preflop, but I just complete here as well. You're out of position, so you'll usually end up having to bet the flop and maybe even turn to fold anyone out. Raise this if you're first on the Button, but completing in the SB is fine.

Aside from betting out on hand 2 I play all of these hands the same way.

Try finding some other hands that you feel like you could have been more aggressive on so we can review them.
