To save, time, let's have a template.
"I can't belive (Player X) won! What are the voters thinking? (Player Y) was clearly more valuable to his team...they must not care about (insert statistical category where player Y beat Player X). Hell, even (insert random local average player) was better than who they picked. I will never watch baseball again."

The problem with this thread is, the voters can't go wrong in the NL.

No, joking aside, lee and pujols were soooo similar I wont be mad with either selection. However, if Andruw Jones gets it, then I will recognize the MVP voting as a jopke.

LOL. Lee is 3rd by a large margin. Pujols wins, Andruw's second.
However, Kurkjian's reasons on SC were total [censored]. He's trying to play Albert up because he had no protection in the lineup. HE HAD NO PROTECTION!?! Puh-lease.

Exactly. (Assuming I'm reading this right by adding "hell did" b/n 'the' and 'Albert')
I also liked his one second blurb on Andruw. "He carried the Braves for most of the season. He's also only the fourth player to hit 50 HR in a gold glove year."
Yeah, his BA sucked, and he won't win MVP because of that. But jesus, give him a little more respect maybe?

Andruw Jones shouldn't come close to the MVP award.

Andruw Jones is just as much of an MVP in 2005 as Pujols or Lee.
Jones should win it. If I had to guess the voting went 55% to Jones, 45% to Pujols.

Sorry, my MVP does a little better than a .721 OPS with RISP. See Albert's 1.093 or Derrek's 1.113.

How about carry a team into the playoffs? Have a career year at the plate while still playing a better CF than anyone else in the majors?
He deserves what he got. 2nd place.

On a team with Marcus Giles, Chipper Jones, Rafael Furcal, and John Smoltz, Andruw Jones carried the Braves to the playoffs?
What. the. [censored]. ever.

LOL. You're right.
Chipper: 109 games, 21 HR, 72 RBI
Giles: 15 HR, 63 RBI

If Lee or Pujols won, I would have been fine witht he choice, Jones would have been a horrible choice. As much as I hate Pujols and the Cards, he's a monster and deserved the award.

Giles: .291/.395/.489
Chipper: .286/.438/.476
Look, I'm not saying Andruw's a failure or a horrible person or that he's unclutch. He'll probably always do worse in RISP given his profile (low BA, high-K hitter). But he's overvalued because he doesn't get on base and doesn't do well in RISP. He's a very good player, one of the 20 best in the bigs last year. He's not an MVP, and in no way did he carry this team (which had a sub-4 ERA). Now, Andruw's part of the reason for that superb defense, but so are Langerhans, Furcal, Giles, and LaRoche.
