Came out around the same time as Matrix, but it didn't have all the fancy shooting and violence, so no one watched it /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Is this the movie with the alien dude who always does the "sleep now" thing on their cheeks?

If so, very weird movie. I remember watching it in the theatre expecting something completely different because of the horseshit trailers they had out at the time.

Would it stand up to a re-watch?

yeah that's the one. i saw it in the theaters first too... i knew nothing about it. hadn't even seen a preview. went with a friend... i don't think i really enjoyed it in the theater.. maybe i wasn't paying attention. i later re-watched and it's pretty good. whenever i see it on tv i make sure to watch it now. i have seen it a few times

The movie is pretty damn good, definitely worth seeing again. And if the storyline and awesome dark feel to the movie isn't enough to convince you, how about this:
