I saw his name in the into to a cable adult film on the tv guide channel. Is his father one of the Smothers Brothers?

yes - and his father quit speaking to him because of it IIRC. it was on some news show a couple years back.

I used the words in quotation marks because in most two-person comedy teams the "dumb" one was actually the leader, wrote material, etc.
